See examples of our hallway designs – from small apartments to family homes. Each space is custom-designed to suit the needs and tastes of a particular family.
How much does a hallway design cost?
The price of the hallway design depends on the size of the space and the scope of services. You can easily calculate the approximate price in our calculator. We will prepare a budget for implementation after the design is completed based on quotes from vetted suppliers.
Design of the hallway step by step
Needs analysis – we find out how you use the hallway and what is important to you.
Variants of layouts – we will show 1-2 layout approaches with pro/contra.
Selection of materials and luminaires – we design surfaces, fittings, lighting scenes.
- 3D Visualization – see how the hallway will look in real life.
Technical documentation – drawings for carpenters and electricians.
Author’s supervision – control of production and assembly, fine-tuning of details on site.
Why deal with the design of the hallway with an interior designer?
- Most hallways are small and every space must be used wisely.
- We can design built-in wardrobes, niches and storage systems that won't overwhelm the space.
- We take into account light, colour and materials so that the hallway looks airy.
- We combine aesthetics with practicality - from the shoe rack to the lighting.

Types of anterooms we design
Antechamber in the apartment
Often only a few square metres, where a shoe rack, a coat rack and a storage space must fit. We solve built-ins up to the ceiling, sliding doors and multifunctional furniture that saves space.
Entrance hall in the family house
A larger area allows more options, but needs a logical division: shoe rack at the entrance, wardrobe, changing bench. We often design a vestibule as a practical filter between the outside and the house.
Antechamber with storage corner
If there is no closet in the apartment, the hallway can partially replace it. Built-in customized wardrobes, hooks for children, separate zones for seasonal items – we solve everything individually.
Atypical hallways
Attic slopes, narrow corridors or blind corners. We have experience in turning these complications into functional solutions – customized storage systems, lighting tricks, mirrors for optical magnification.
Hallway design: materials, surfaces and maintenance
Water, salt and sand are brought into the hallway. Durable flooring (vinyl, tile, quality laminate) with a darker groove or texture that can withstand traffic is recommended.
What not to forget when designing a hallway (12 practical tips)
How to solve the storage space in the hallway
Wardrobe module with clear divisions
Coats on a rod, shorter pieces on top of each other, shelves for hats and gloves, down drawers for shoes. Internal organizers – boxes, nets, dividers – keep things organized.
A shoebox that breathes
A full door hides the chaos, but shoes need ventilation. Perforated sides, ventilation grilles or an open “parking” shelf for just-wet pairs can help.
A place for small things next to the door
Keys, cards, headphones… a small shelf or a shallow drawer by the handle will prevent things from “wandering” around the apartment. A magnetic board or bar inside the cupboard works great.
Hooks and compartments for handbags and backpacks
Every bag should have its place: a hook at a comfortable height, a shallow module for handbags inside the wardrobe. Put the hooks lower for the kids – save yourself forever rehanging.
How to arrange a comfortable and functional hallway
Changing benches
The short sitting time when putting on your shoes is a comfort that you quickly get used to. The bench can be combined with a shoe rack – under the seat extensions, small bag hook on the side.
Wet area
Dedicated corner with hooks, umbrella drain and washable wall. Heavy-duty flooring and a recessed mat just inside the door catches dirt and water.
How to add style to the hallway without losing space
Decor without overdoing it
All it takes is one accent – a painting, a textured tile, a strip of wallpaper or a bold handle. The “less is more” rule works in the hallway.
Minimalism in practice
What doesn’t have a dedicated space makes a mess. When designing, it’s a good idea to allow for a realistic number of things – from sports to the dog – and give each type a specific “home”.
How to properly illuminate the hallway
Light scenes on click
Complement the central ceiling light with a wall or bar light and a lamp by the mirror. Put switches in logical places, possibly a sensor with a timer for returns with full hands.
What not to forget when designing a hallway
Built-to-suit to the ceiling
A metre above the wardrobe is lost space. It’s good for seasonal items, suitcases and boxes – ideally with a door without handles to make the front look calm.
Large mirror with its own light
The mirror visually enlarges the entrance and the LED frame removes unpleasant shadows in the face. For narrow corridors, the mirror on the opposite wall acts as an “escape” depth.
How to choose a mat and carpet for the hallway
Doormat and carpet that work
Recessed doormat at entry and further down the hall a low tread with anti-slip. Easy vacuuming, machine washable and salt and mud resistant are more important than a trendy pattern.
The hallway just for you
Whether you are dealing with the design of a hallway in an apartment or the design of a vestibule in a family house, together we will always find the best solution.
